If you choose to reschedule your wedding for reasons outside of COVID shutdowns I will work to be as flexible to your needs as possible. Rescheduling within the same calendar year will result in a $500 rescheduling fee. If you choose to reschedule for the following year a new retainer will be required to reserve that date as it is closing off that date for another couple. I will honour the original quoted price even if my prices have increased since you booked. If you choose to cancel, the retainer is nonrefundable. A signed cancellation agreement will be needed to officially cancel the date before any refunds will be issued.

COVID has absolutely rocked the wedding industry and a lot of discussions have gone on between those in the industry about best practices that will protect you as the client and our businesses as well. My goal has always been and will always be to make working with me a positive and easy experience. I want to give all my clients full transparency. Going forward your retainer will remain nonrefundable. I am very willing and able to be flexible with rebooking when necessary. If your wedding is directly affected by COVID I am happy to chat with you about your options. If you are legally unable to hold a wedding at all due to government COVID regulations we will work together to select a new date with no additional fees. I understand this is an unprecedented time for everyone but we have more information now about what to expect and this may be the new normal going forward. Please keep me informed as you look at new dates to make sure I am available. If you choose a date where I am unavailable, you can choose to stay booked and accept an associate shooter in my place for an additional fee of 100$ per hour. I will still edit the wedding in my style. If you choose to go in another direction the retainer remains nonrefundable. If your wedding is still able to legally happen on the date originally booked but potentially with a smaller guest list or other alterations, I am still able to fulfill my contractual obligation. If you require fewer hours, refunds will not be available but the extra credit can be put towards an additional session or towards an album. If you choose to reschedule your wedding anyway in this circumstance, you can do so within the regular rescheduling parameters. If you choose to fully cancel your wedding for any reason, retainers remain nonrefundable. As always I recommend looking into wedding insurance and having frank discussions with your insurance provider about COVID and what they cover and how to best protect yourself. No matter what happens we will stay in touch and work on a solution together. I hope we can work together as we adjust to a new normal and I balance giving you what you deserve while also protecting my business for you and future clients.

Going forward I will only be attending weddings that follow the government regulations regarding the number of guests. I stay up to date on this as it changes. Your health and the health of your loved ones and mine is very important to me. If I enter your home for getting ready photos I will wear a mask the entire time. I carry hand sanitizer with me and will apply again before entering your home and as soon as I leave. I will also reapply in between each location and in between each portion of the day. My mask will remain on unless I am comfortably able to stay further than 6ft from anyone at any given time. I have certain lenses that allow me to stand further back from you during portraits. I never get super closer during the ceremony anyway. I wonβt be able to show you the back of the camera right now as I avoid getting too close. At this present time, I am requesting to be seated during dinner at a separate vendor table and NOT be seated with your friends and family.

Collecting a retainer is common practice for any vendor that needs to hold a date far in advance. As wedding photographers, for the most part, we are unable to book more than one event per day. In most cases, we book events 12-18 months in advance. A lot can happen in that time. We often receive several inquiries for the same date and many people have to be turned away if that date is already booked. Retainers are necessary to protect our business but also to protect you. Because of your retainer, you are secure in knowing your date is reserved and I am secure in knowing that I will have that income to cover business expenses and the time and resources that I do invest in you before your wedding day. Retainers go towards the equipment used to photograph your wedding including its upkeep, to make sure I have everything I need to confidently document your wedding. It goes towards the software and programs used to make your booking experience seamless. It goes towards lawyers that ensure your contract best protects you, the insurance that your venue may require me to have, your welcome guide, and even all of the time and resources I am happy to provide to create a wonderful experience for you.
