My very first solo wedding was in 2014. It was an amazing opportunity I was given due to my friends in the industry. I have been shooting weddings since the summer of 2013. That first summer I spent entirely second shooting which means I shot next to another photographer. I second shot over 35 weddings during that first summer. This allowed me to get experience shooting weddings without having the entire day be my responsibility. Photographing weddings is a huge deal because they can not be replicated. If I miss a moment it is missed forever. Because I have been working in this industry for so many years I am very confident in my ability to deliver consistent and beautiful images for you.

Completely! I have been shooting for many years and there aren’t many lighting scenarios I haven’t encountered. I invest in quality gear that I am confident can handle low light situations. I have photographed in churches where flash is not allowed or dark rooms where candle ambiance is the desired effect. I also use my flashes on and off camera during the reception when needed or when it gets dark or to create beautiful night time portraits. It is extremely important to me that everyone feels welcomed through my business and know that their love is deeply celebrated. I am in the business of love and no couple will be turned away because of who they are. I have worked towards creating an atmosphere of affirming identity through the use of inclusive language within all of my correspondence. Gender-neutral language is used throughout my business. It is used in all my emails, contracts, contact forms, questionnaires, and guides that are provided to you. I have also added a section to my contact form where you can indicate your preferred pronouns if you desire. If you notice anywhere during our interaction where I have failed to use gender-neutral language do not hesitate to point it out to me and I will fix it right away. I also believe strongly that every couple deserves to be showcased proudly on my social media channels. Every single couple I photograph is always posted unless they specifically ask me not to.

I completely and fully understand! There is a reason I like to be behind the camera instead of in front of it. Many of my couples have told me that they are nervous in front of the camera or un-photogenic. I can honestly say I have never photographed an un-photogenic couple. It is part of my philosophy to make sure you have as much fun as possible while having your picture taken. We’ll start off just hanging out and I will get you genuinely interacting with each other you’ll forget my camera is even there. This also means that you’ll be more relaxed and the memories those photos inspire will be good ones. Sometimes I’ll play music on my speaker if it helps you relax or we’ll joke around with each other. I may even throw in a Simpsons quote or two. I don’t ever want you to feel like I am shoving you into awkward or stiff poses that just don’t feel like you.

First looks have become very popular over the years but they aren’t for everyone. I always leave this decision totally up to you as it is a personal one. First looks are when you and your love choose to see each other before the ceremony. This can be done for practical or personal reasons. For practicality's sake, you will be able to get your photos done before the ceremony which means you can chill with your guests during cocktail hour. This also leaves me more time to capture your details if you have a lot of them. This usually works well for people who poured their hearts into personal handmade details. For personal reasons, some people love them as a way to calm nerves before the ceremony. There are a lot of ways that you can plan your day if you are on the introverted side. Not if you don’t want to. I am very comfortable shooting solo and I shoot many weddings solo. I do recommend adding a second photographer. It adds an additional safeguard if the worst should happen. It adds an additional perspective during the day. It also means that if you are getting ready separately there is a photographer to be with you both during that time and it also results in more photos for you.

Your images will be delivered in both high resolution and web size as digital jpegs in your own personal online gallery. This online gallery beautifully displays your images and you are easily able to scroll through the photos, enlarge them, and share them with your friends and family. You can download the digital files directly to your computer. This also means that I can have the photos to you right away instead of waiting for them to arrive in the mail.

Heck yes! Sometimes I am so excited right after your wedding I have to edit a few right away. It is not always possible to have them ready right away depending on how late I arrive home or if I have another event the following day but I will always have some ready for you within 48-72 hours of the big day. I will send them to you through your gallery and post a few that I love on social media.

Engagement sessions are edited and delivered in your gallery within 2 weeks of the shoot. Weddings are delivered within 6-8 weeks maximum. I have never delivered a wedding later than that. Every effort is given to completing your gallery in that time. If unforeseen circumstances prevent this from happening, you will be immediately notified with a new date to expect them by and regularly updated. I do not want you waiting a long time for your memories. I love to deliver them while you are still excited about the day.

Your gallery will be active online for one year from the date it is delivered. I suggest that you download the images directly to your computer and save them in different places for safekeeping such as an external hard drive or USB drive. I also highly suggest printing your precious memories as it can be difficult to transfer your digital files as technology changes. Imagine having all of your wedding photos on a floppy drive and nowhere else! If you would like to renew your gallery for an additional year you can for a fee of $50.

Yup! My style reflects best in colour so every single image is given to you in colour. I then go through and will include a duplicate in black and white if I feel that image suits black and white. Some weddings have more black and white duplicates than others depending on how colourful or vibrant your personal style was.

For your engagement session, we will shoot for around an hour. On average I deliver between 50-75 images for your engagement session. For your wedding, I do not give a specific number to expect simply because every wedding is very different. Some have a big bridal party and some have no bridal party at all. Some weddings are full of different traditions and some are more simple. I deliver the images that help tell the story of your day. On average this is usually not less than 50 per hour.
